Day 1 July 27

The ship leaves on time from Brooklyn. The new york skyline and the Statue of Liberty passes by. Most notable is that about every 2 minutes a helicopter passes by. The noise level reminds me of lawn mowing day at home.

Even though it was last minute, we have a nice table about 10 feet from the window. There is no line with passengers waiting to enter the dining room. The doors are opened before 6 and everyone is seated as quickly as they enter. The first night I have roasted pork. OK, but nothing great. The service was slow and disorganized, but that is always the case on the first night.

With only 4 hours of sleep we forgo the production show and call it a night. As we head out into the ocean the seas are under 2 feet and the skies are clear, well as clear as they can be just off the coast of New York. Our clocks are set ahead one hour during the night.
